Program Director - Doctor of Physical Therapy Long Island University

The School of Health Professions seeks a full-time candidate with terminal doctoral degree. This is a full-time Administrative position with an annual service period of 12 months (Sept. 1 - Aug. 31).

Principal responsibilities of this position:

  • Administrative duties in the capacity of director of doctor of physical therapy program
  • Participate in all program, School and campus committees (as appointed)
  • Engage in recruitment efforts
  • Develop face-to-face and blended courses
  • Engage in student advisement
  • Assist in student retention and achieving program enrollment criteria within high academic standards
  • Work with faculty to analyze and implement changes as part of programmatic and curricular outcomes

 Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have terminal degree (PhD, EdD, DSci) in Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Science or a closely related field.
  • All applicants must be a licensed Physical Therapist in the State of New York with a minimum of five years of clinical practice and evidence of current and continuing practice
  • Board-Certified specialist certification (e.g. ABPTS or other specialty certification) preferred
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in areas of musculoskeletal, neurological and/or cardiopulmonary physical therapy
  • Valid unrestricted license to practice PT in NYS or license eligible for NY licensure and transfer of license within six months of hire
  • Demonstrated record of service to the profession
