Professional Bio
Dr. Piccoli teaches coursework related to physical therapy examination and intervention, pharmacology and vestibular rehabilitation. She also has experience in the content of teaching assessment and intervention skills in the area of cardiopulmonary disorders in acute and chronic conditions.
In addition to her teaching, she coordinates part time and full time student clinical experiences, both locally and nationally, in the Doctor of Physical Therapy clinical education courses.
Her expertise is in sub-acute rehabilitation, with a primary focus in the geriatric population and fall prevention. She also is trained in neurological exam and intervention for vestibular dysfunction, as a certified vestibular specialist.
Dr. Piccoli's research interest include mindfulness training to reduce the perception of stress, and integrating interdisciplinary education in the curriculum to improve communication during clinical experiences.
