Professional Bio

Cara Felter is an Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine, Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science. She was an adjunct instructor for five years prior to becoming a core faculty member in 2016. She received a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Belmont University, and a Master of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is board certified in Neurology and Pediatrics and has clinical experience in both of these areas. Dr. Felter is an active member of the APTA at the state and national level. Dr. Felter is engaged in educational research with projects spanning social determinants of learning, interview-based learning, the role of patient-educators in health professions education, and global health. She is currently enrolled in a PhD in Health Professions Education at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
