Professional Bio

Carolyn Shisler is an Assistant Professor and Program for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at the University of Cincinnati, Clermont. Her teaching content is in the area of acute care physical therapy and the medically complex patient. Most recently, her focus has been on improving collaboration and communication within the PT-PTA team. She has established intraprofessional experiences with two DPT programs and completed her master’s theses on the intraprofessional team as it relates to entry-level skills for the acute care PTA. In the Spring of 2021, she was a member of the PTA Education Summit Planning Task Force Subgroup responsible for marketing, technology, and engagement of stakeholders for Phase 2 and 3 of the PTA Education Summit. She also participated in Phase 2 and 3 of the Education Summit. Most recently, she presented the results of the PTA Education Summit at the 2022 Educational Leadership Conference with Pamela Levangie, Jennifer Jewell, and Deanna Lamb. She is also a trainer for both the Level 1 and Level 2 Credentialed Clinical Instructor Programs.
