Derek Matthew Liuzzo

My name is Derek Liuzzo, and I’m an assistant professor in the physical therapy department at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where I teach neurorehabilitation. This is my sixth year as a full time faculty member, and, for the past two years, I've had the privilege to serve on the nominating committee of the Academic Faculty SIG. I underwent doctoral training at the University of South Carolina under Stacy Fritz. Through her, I learned how to be a faculty member and that it was so much more than just teaching. My first faculty position was in Boston, MA at Simmons University where I taught neurorehabilitation, gross anatomy, and some research courses as well. I currently continue to teach neurorehabilitation but also business courses as I finish my MBA in December 2022.
