Professional Bio

Dr. Drevyn is an Assistant Professor, Director of Clinical Education, and Vice Chair for Clinical Education at the University of Miami Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.

Dr. Drevyn received her Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from the University of Miami in 1988, her MSPT in 1989, and her DPT in 2010. She joined the faculty at the University of Miami in 2006. Her research area of interest is Physical Therapy education with an emphasis on clinical education. In addition to her role as DCE, she teaches Clinical Skills and Spanish for Physical Therapists in the DPT curriculum.

Throughout her career, she has practiced in a variety of areas including outpatient, acute care, home health, the public school system, and pediatrics. During this time, she served as Clinical Instructor and Site Coordinator of Clinical Education, for Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistant students.
Dr. Drevyn is an instructor for the APTA’s Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program. She is a Fellow of the Academic of Medical Education Scholars Program at the University of Miami. In 2022, together with her colleagues, received the Standford Award from the Journal of Physical Therapy Education for their investigation on the optional length of clinical experiences. She is an academic advisor for a diversity program involved in community outreach in disadvantaged communities mentoring students interested in the Physical Therapy profession.

Dr. Drevyn has maintained leadership roles in clinical education at a local, regional, and national level. She has served as the Chair for the Florida Consortium of Clinical Educators and is currently an Assembly Representative and Delegate to the APTA House of Delegates for the state of Florida.
