Professional Bio

Gina Tarud, PT, DPT, Associate Teaching Professor at The Pennsylvania State University, Hazleton Campus within the Physical Therapist Assistant Program for the past 15 years. Prior to this position, I was a Director of Rehabilitation in a long-term care and rehabilitation setting for 6 years. I have been a Physical therapist for 24 years with previous experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant with licensure in the states of PA and FL with PA being my active state of licensure as a Physical Therapist. My clinical experience has included acute care, outpatient, long term care and short-term rehabilitation settings as well as pediatric settings. My pediatric care involved physical therapy interventions for developmentally delayed children ages birth through two years of age. Currently a certified CPR/AED/First Instructor for the American Red Cross.

I am a member of the APTA and the PA Chapter with PTA Sig involvement through membership within the APTA Academy of Physical Therapy Education section. Volunteering as a member of the APTA PA PAC, as well as approval for CE courses within the state of PA. I have collaborated with three colleagues developing a survey with presentation at CSM 2016. I have also presented a poster creation for the NED of the APTA PA with a colleague and two students. I am currently continuing research within the university of which I am employed.
