Professional Bio

Julie Lombardi is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Clinical Education in the PT Education Department at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. She teaches Geriatrics and assists in neurologic courses in addition to her role as DCE. In this role, she has worked to coordinate integrated standardized patient experiences which has involved educating clinical instructors and standardized patients for an optimal simulation experience. Her clinical work experience has been in various settings including short term rehab, home care and acute care with a primary focus in outpatient neurology. She is passionate about working with patients with vestibular disorders and Parkinson’s Disease and teaching students to develop their clinical skills in the treatment of patients with these diagnoses. She has served as a board member of Empower Parkinson Inc. for 3 years and is an active educator of the Parkinson’s community. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association Neurologic, Geriatric and Education sections and a Certified Level 1 Clinical Instructor as well as a member of the NYNJ/Clinical Education Consortium.
