Professional Bio

As a native of Southern Illinois, Lisa Stejskal has spent her 38-year PTA career working in acute/subacute care in St. Louis, Missouri and Chicago, Illinois; most recently in geriatric care settings in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. During the past 17 years, Lisa has worked in PTA education, as ACCE and instructor, at Southwestern Illinois College, Mount Washington College and Mount Wachusett Community College. Currently, Lisa is the director for a federally-funded grant program, Health Career Opportunity Program, at Mount Wachusett Community College. She has served the Commission on Accreditation for Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) as an on-site reviewer for 5 years and as a commissioner on the PTA Panel for the past 2 years.

Throughout her career, Lisa has been active in the APTA, serving at the chapter level in Missouri, Illinois, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Some of the positions she has held in these various chapters include Membership Committee Chair, District Secretary, Assembly District PTA representative, PTA Caucus Representative and Director on the Board of Directors. At the national-level, Lisa has served the PTA Caucus as alternate delegate and delegate. Additionally, she has served on multiple APTA committees. She is a member of the Academy of Physical Therapy Education, Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy and the section on Health Policy and Administration, HPA, The Catalyst. Her section leadership includes serving as Vice Chair of the PTA Educator SIG from 2012 to 2014, and most recently from 2020 to 2022.
