Professional Bio
Before coming to NSU, Dean Wilson had served as associate professor and chair of the Department of Physical Therapy at Howard University in Washington, D.C.; assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Florida International University in Miami; and several other clinical appointments in South Florida and Virginia.
As a licensed physical therapist in Florida and a member of the profession for 36 years, he has practiced in both the clinical and academic settings. He has been an academician for 27 years, teaching in many health care subject areas. His record of scholarly accomplishments includes author of many peer-reviewed manuscripts, abstracts and presentations; investigator of grant-funded research activities; and leader in several professional and community service organizations.
Dean Wilson has held a number of leadership roles in his field, including president of the National Chapter of the Alpha Eta Honor Society; founding president of NSU’s chapter of the Alpha Eta Honor Society; director of practice of the Florida Physical Therapy Association (FPTA); treasurer of the Southeast District of the FPTA; assembly representative and member of the nominating committee for the Southeast District of the FPTA; member of the FPTA Board of Directors (BOD); and board of directors representative on the FPTA Research Committee.
