Professional Bio

Tara Haj, PT, DPT, EdD is currently the Director of Clinical Education and Professor at the University of Jamestown Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in Fargo, ND. Tara is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy. She received her DPT degree from the University of North Dakota in 2005 and her Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2022. She has been the DCE since January 2019 and was previously the Assistant DCE for 4 years. In addition to directing the clinical education components of the program, she teaches in the areas of neurologic rehabilitation, professional behaviors and values, ethics, and communication. Tara’s scholarly agenda includes topics in leadership, clinical education, and rural physical therapist practice. Prior to her academic career, Tara worked full-time as a PT in both inpatient and outpatient neurologic rehabilitation for 9 years. Tara served as Chair of the Nominating Committee for APTA North Dakota from 2014 - 2020 and is currently serving as Chief Delegate from North Dakota to the APTA House of Delegates (2021 – Current).
