Event Details

A Clinical Teaching Competency Framework was recently developed and validated through a multi-step process that engaged clinical education faculty across the continuum of education. In this highly interactive session, the creators of the framework will challenge participants to brainstorm and reflect on specific strategies for implementing the Clinical Teaching Competency Framework in their work environments. Results from a recent study exploring perceptions of clinical education faculty on the utility of the framework will be interwoven with small group discussions and reflective exercises. Attendees will leave this session with specific ideas on how to apply the competency framework to their clinical education roles.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Understand the process of developing and validating a competency framework.
  2. Recognize alignment between the clinical teaching competencies within current ACAPT and APTE priorities.
  3. Develop strategies to apply the competency framework to various clinical education initiatives (e.g. Clinical faculty development, determining CI readiness, enhancing academic-clinical partnership)
Level: Intermediate
