Peer review is an opportunity for early career researchers to provide a meaningful contribution to the research community and gain valuable experience to help improve their research and writing. Education research seeks to explore and explain pieces of a complex system of interactions between factors in the teaching and learning process and the organizations that support it. Additionally, educational outcomes must be evaluated to seek continuous improvement in the teaching and learning process. As mixed methods research gains popularity in health sciences education research, the peer review process can present unique challenges. The purpose of this webinar is to provide novice and experienced peer reviewers with the structure for evaluating educational research and providing meaningful feedback to authors, editorial board members, and editors. Participants will learn how to conduct peer review efficiently and leverage the peer review process to advance their own research. Additionally, participants will gain insight into how to promote equity and social justice through the peer review process.
