The Department of Physical Therapy at Faulkner University is seeking qualified individuals for the role of Director of Clinical Education (DCE). The DCE serves as a liaison between the physical therapy program and clinical education sites as well as plans, implements, and assesses the Physical Therapy Clinical Education program. The DCE also oversees clinical site and clinical faculty development and coordinates and supervises student clinical experiences. Additional teaching assignments will be based on background and knowledge. In addition to teaching and student advisement, faculty in the DPT program are responsible for developing a line of research and engaging in service to the profession, university and the community. This is a full-time,12-month, tenure track, core faculty position. Faculty rank, tenure status, and salary will be commensurate with academic qualifications, teaching and research experience. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

The College of Health Sciences is housed in an 85,000 sq ft state of the art facility which includes classrooms, large physical therapy labs, a simulation center, 1500 sg ft of dedicated PT research space, and an in-house interdisciplinary pro bono clinic that includes an adult and pediatric gym. The program emphasizes contemporary, evidence-informed practice in a collaborative learner-centered Christian environment. The mission of the program is to glorify God by educating the whole person to become independent physical therapy practitioners and leaders who are committed to addressing the changing needs of the individual, the profession, and a global society with compassion, integrity and best evidence in order to optimize health and movement. We fulfill the mission by cultivating mutual respect for all persons and their differences in a collaborative, learner centered Christian environment. The DPT program recently achieved initial accreditation from CAPTE and will be admitting their fourth cohort of students this fall. Faulkner is a small, Christian University, dedicated to making a difference in the lives of students and the community. Qualifications Required:

• Entry level doctoral degree with advanced certification or terminal academic doctorate (PhD, ScD, EdD or DSc) from an accredited institution in a field related to physical therapy

• Physical therapist who holds an active, unencumbered PT license in Alabama or is eligible for an Alabama license within 90 days of hire

• Minimum of three years of full-time post-licensure clinical practice

• Two years of clinical practice must include experience as a site coordinator of clinical education (SCCE) OR clinical instructor (CI) in physical therapy, OR a minimum of two years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in a physical therapist education program.
