Jacksonville University, ranked as a Best Regional University by US News & World Report, invites applications for multiple full-time, 12-month open rank faculty positions in both tenure and non-tenure earning lines for the developing Brooks Rehabilitation Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. A strong clinical background in treating individuals across the lifespan is desired. Preference will be given to candidates who also hold a terminal academic degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, DSc) and specialty certification; however, all qualified applicants are welcome to apply.
As a core faculty member, the candidate will be committed to excellence in teaching in addition to scholarship and academic service responsibilities. Individuals must have a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, exhibit collegiality, and prioritize teamwork. The following content areas are needed to fill the full faculty for the developing DPT program: Basic Sciences (anatomy, physiology, pathology, neuroscience, etc.), Neuromuscular Physical Therapy, Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Physical Therapy, Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy, Biomechanics & Exercise Science (Strength & Conditioning), Geriatric and/or Pediatric Physical Therapy.
These are faculty positions with teaching, scholarship, advisement, and service responsibilities. These positions are in person in Jacksonville, FL, and require significant contact with students, outside constituents, and professional consortiums. Successful applicants are expected to engage in scholarly activities and public service at the university and in the local community. Classroom instruction, clinical instruction, DPT student advising, and mentorship are required. Coordination and interprofessional collaboration of teaching, clinical, and outreach activities is expected within the college, school, and department. In addition to the typical faculty responsibilities, the faculty will also be required to be a part of the development process for the new DPT program.
