Journal of Physical Therapy Education to be Indexed in MEDLINE
The APTA Academy of Education, a component of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), is excited to announce that its scholarly journal, the Journal of Physical Therapy Education (JoPTE), is to be indexed in MEDLINE. Administered by the National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE is the premier bibliographic database that contains over 30 million references to journal articles in life sciences with a primary focus on biomedicine.
“In receiving the long-awaited, exciting news of indexing the Journal of Physical Therapy Education in MEDLINE, we would like to share how thankful we are for the determination of former Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Susan Wainwright, PT, MPT, PhD and Associate Editor Dr. Joyce Maring, PT, DPT, EdD as well as current Editor-in-Chief Dr. Keshrie Nadoo, PT, DPT, EdD for their tireless work in achieving this amazing milestone,” stated Academy of Education President Dr. Chalee Engelhard, PT, EdD, MBA.
JoPTE advances the scholarship of physical therapy education in all its dimensions by disseminating scholarly works of discovery, application, and integration and enriches physical therapy academic and clinical education environments by using evidence in the educational decision-making process to effectively prepare students, support faculty and clinicians, and inform administrators. Access to JoPTE is included with an Academy of Education membership.
“Having the Journal of Physical Therapy Education indexed in MEDLINE is wonderful news for the authors who choose to publish their work in the journal. It greatly extends our reach and impact,” stated Naidoo. “We are so grateful to the former editors, Dr. Wainwright and Dr. Maring, who submitted the application. Their hard work and perseverance made this happen!”
