Professional Bio

Brad Willis is a physical therapist and associate teaching professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Missouri. He has over 15 years of clinical experience working with older adults across numerous healthcare settings. He earned a master’s in physical therapy and a PhD in educational leadership and policy analysis from the University of Missouri. He is a board-certified clinical specialist in geriatric physical therapy through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and a Certified Exercise Expert for Aging Adult through the American Physical Therapy Association’s Academy of Geriatrics. Additionally, he completed the Medical Education Research Certificate (MERC) Program through the Association of American Medical Colleges and earned a Certificate in Effective College Instruction through the Association of College and University Educators. His current teaching responsibilities at the University of Missouri focus on geriatric physical therapy with a particular interest promoting interprofessional health care strategies to reduce the risk of falls among older adults. Educational research and SoTL interests include student and faculty leadership development, mentorship practices within higher education, and curricular strategies promoting interprofessional collaborative practice.
