Professional Bio

Dr. Jackson earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy degree in 1990 at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan along with a Master of Arts in Sports Administration and an Education Specialist Certificate in Special Education Administration in 1993 and 2008 respectively. She earned her Doctor in Education degree in 2016 from Walden University with a concentration in Teacher Leadership and a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree in Pediatric Science from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2019.
She started her career as a physical therapist at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan in Detroit over 30 years ago. She worked at the Detroit Public Schools for 18 years, the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Baker College for six years and currently working in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Western Michigan University being one of the founding faculty members. Her focus is on pediatrics, health and wellness, clinical education, and Interprofessional Education and Collaboration.
