Professional Bio

Dr. Lori Hochman is an Assistant Professor and Director of Clinical Education in the DPT program at New York Institute of Technology and has been a clinical instructor certified trainer since 2019. She received a B.S. from Tulane University with a major in psychology, her B.S./M.S. in Physical Therapy from Long Island University, and her PhD from Nova Southeastern University. Upon entering the profession, Dr. Hochman worked at a medical center primarily treating patients recovering from a wide variety of neurological and orthopedic impairments. Dr. Hochman is actively involved in the New York/New Jersey Clinical Education Consortium and the ACAPT Student Success Task force. Dr. Hochman’s research interests include various topics in clinical education and outcome measures in the neurological population. Her teaching focuses on professional practice, preparation for clinical education, motor learning, and neurorehabilitation.
