Mary Baldwin University is a private institution in Staunton, Virginia, with an over 180-year history of quality educational programs. Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences was founded in 2014. The entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program is fully accredited, and the dynamic faculty teaches within a unique interprofessional curriculum. We invite individuals with exceptional skills and experience in physical therapy practice, teaching, and administration to apply for a 12-month full-time faculty position. The position is for a focus in Cardiopulmonary or Acute Care Physical Therapy, but individuals with previous teaching experience in other specialty areas are encouraged to apply.

Summary of the Position

Join the exceptional team at Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences at Mary Baldwin University! Serve as a 12-month core faculty member in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Primary responsibilities include teaching the management of cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions and/or acute care physical therapy with availability to teach additional relevant content. Candidates should be dynamic and dedicated educators who will facilitate classroom and applied learning activities while fostering an inclusive and caring learning environment. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, research/scholarship, service to the University and community-at-large, and supporting the interprofessional education curriculum. The successful candidate is expected to develop or have in place an active research or scholarship agenda with the potential for integrating students. Requirements

Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or terminal academic degree (Ph.D., D.Sc., Ed.D. or equivalent).
• American Board of Physical Therapy Specialization (ABPTS) certification as a clinical specialist is preferred, but not required.
• Licensed or eligible for PT licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• A minimum of 3 years clinical experience as a physical therapist
• Prior teaching experience in an entry-level DPT program is preferred, but not required
• Strong communication, teamwork, & interpersonal skills
